The McDowell Trojans will square off against the General McLane Lancers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The timing is sure in McDowell's favor as the team sits on seven straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while General McLane has been banged up by eight consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.
On Friday, McDowell got the win against Meadville by a conclusive 13-3. Considering the Trojans have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Emma Mickel and Gabriella Deluca made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Mickel tossed four innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits. Meanwhile, Deluca tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk in 12 consecutive appearances. At the plate, Mickel went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double, while Deluca fired off two home runs, four runs, and three RBI while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs Deluca has posted since back in April of 2024.

General McLane's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Saturday. McDowell has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 11 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for General McLane, though, as they've been averaging only 3.6 strikeouts. Will McDowell keep running through batters, or will the Lancers buck the trend?
McDowell took their victory against General McLane in their previous meeting last Thursday by a conclusive 12-0 score. Do the Trojans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lancers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
