Softball Game Preview: Rodriguez Mustangs vs. Sacramento Dragons

The Rodriguez Mustangs will venture away from home to take on the Sacramento Dragons at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Rodriguez has three straight victories, Sacramento has 11 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Rodriguez came out on top against River City on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run seventh inning. The Mustangs had just enough and edged out the Raiders 6-5. That's two games straight that the Mustangs have won by just one run.

Angelique Boot made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Boot was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Boot wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Alanna Williams, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Rodriguez hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as River City struck out nine times.

Sacramento played against Vanden on Thursday and lost via forfeit.

Rodriguez now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Sacramento, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11-1.
