After a string of four wins, Zuni's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 63-34 loss at the hands of the Rehoboth Christian Lynx. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Thunderbirds this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 65-33 back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Zuni had strong showings from Deron Lastyano, who posted nine points along with eight boards and four steals, and Ty'Shawn Nieto, who scored eight points and nine rebounds. Lastyano has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Nathan Simplicio, who had two points and 11 boards.

Even though they lost, Zuni smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in four consecutive matchups.

Zuni's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-4. As for Rehoboth Christian, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.

Zuni has already played their next contest, an 80-55 loss against Grants on the 15th. As for Rehoboth Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 56-51 victory against Mora on the 16th.
