Kelly Morrissey made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Brianna Dobnak was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Giana Foster, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
Serra Catholic kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in ten consecutive matchups.
Ellis' loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Serra Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Ellis has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Serra Catholic struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
