Preview: Briarcrest Christian Saints vs. Memphis Home Education Association
Briarcrest Christian is 8-2 against Memphis Home Education Association since November of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the pair will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 6:00 p.m. on February 13th. Briarcrest Christian will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive.
Briarcrest Christian put the finishing touches on their 11th blowout victory of the season last Thursday. They blew past St. Agnes Academy 58-33. Given Briarcrest Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 98th, while St. Agnes Academy is ranked 232nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Briarcrest Christian's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Kendall Jones, who scored 11 points along with eight steals, and Hallie Turner, who scored ten points along with five assists and five rebounds. Jones has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellen Adair, who scored six points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Memphis Home Education Association's good fortune finally ran out last Tuesday. They took a 46-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Briarcrest Christian. Memphis Home Education Association has not had much luck with Briarcrest Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Briarcrest Christian has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 15-10 record this season. As for Memphis Home Education Association, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-4.
