The St. John Woodchucks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They fell 62-54 to North Prairie co-op [Rolla/Rolette]. The result was an unpleasant reminder to St. John of the 48-42 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture on January 4th.
St. John's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tayden Longie, who scored 14 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Longie has scored all season. Ezekiel Parisien was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds.
St. John has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. As for North Prairie co-op [Rolla/Rolette], the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
St. John will head out on the road to challenge Midway/Minto at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for North Prairie co-op [Rolla/Rolette], they will be playing in front of their home fans against Westhope/Newburg at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Westhope/Newburg has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 915 points over their last 12 games.
