Meanwhile, Carlsbad faced Pojoaque Valley in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. Carlsbad came out on top against Pojoaque Valley by a score of 49-39.

Carlsbad is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Artesia, they pushed their record up to 7-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.
