Baseball Recap: Tupelo Christian Prep's Loss Ends Ten-Game Winning Streak at Home

Tupelo Christian Prep dropped their record down to 22-10 on Monday, which also ended the team's ten-game streak of wins at home. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of West Union. The loss was just more heartbreak for Tupelo Christian Prep who fell 2-0 when the teams previously met back in April of 2024.

Tupelo Christian Prep saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryce Godown, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

As for West Union, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a massive bump to their 19-12 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games.

On West Union's side, Grant Martin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits. Martin has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Gavin Foley was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Jake Foreman was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run.

As of now, neither Tupelo Christian Prep nor West Union have any future games scheduled.
