Softball Game Preview: Western Brown Broncos vs. Greenville Green Wave

The Western Brown Broncos will face off against the Greenville Green Wave at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Western Brown 2, Greenville 0.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Western Brown is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Ross as they made off with an 8-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Broncos, who have now won 17 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Greenville got themselves on the board against New Richmond on Wednesday, but New Richmond never followed suit. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Lions 1-0. The win was familiar territory for the Green Wave, who have now won three matches in a row.

The victory was the fifth in a row for Western Brown, bringing their record up to 24-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Greenville, their victory bumped their record up to 26-2.

Western Brown suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to Greenville in their previous matchup back in May of 2017. Can the Broncos avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
