Baseball Recap: Sherman Wins Going Away Against Capital

Sherman made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Capital, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Sherman put the hurt on Capital with a sharp 13-3 win on Tuesday. Considering the Tide have won three matchups by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Luke Tagliente made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Tagliente was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. He also brought in two RBI, marking his first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Colby Atkins, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Brady Perdue, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI.

Sherman always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .649. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Sherman now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Capital, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
