Basketball Recap: Bronte Comes Up Short

Bronte lost against Sonora back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Bronte Longhorns had to suffer through a 51-18 loss at the hands of the Sonora Broncos. The game marked the Longhorns' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Sonora's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Juan Castillo, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten boards. Castillo is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Evan Arredondo, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds.

Bronte has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Sonora, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.

Bronte didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 40-28 win against Gorman on the 28th. As for Sonora, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 49-29 defeat against Harper on the 28th.
