Baseball Recap: Dubois Has No Trouble Against Bradford

DuBois won against DuBois Central Catholic on Saturday with eight runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Beavers blew past the Bradford Owls 8-1. Considering the Beavers have won seven contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Grady Galiczynski looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Trey Wingard, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Mason Dinkfelt was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for DuBois and bumps their season record up to 11-5. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Bradford, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9-1 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. DuBois will face off against Brookville at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Bradford, they will challenge Punxsutawney at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Chucks' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Owls' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
