Baseball Recap: Washburn Takes a Loss

Washburn lost against West Greene last Friday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Washburn Pirates fell just short of the West Greene Buffaloes by a score of 4-3.

David Bailey made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season.

Washburn's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for West Greene, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Washburn will face off against Cumberland Gap at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for West Greene, they will head out on the road to take on Gatlinburg-Pittman at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
