Basketball Game Preview: Seabreeze Sandcrabs vs. Hagerty Huskies

The Seabreeze Sandcrabs will challenge the Hagerty Huskies at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Seabreeze and five for Hagerty.

Seabreeze saw some tournament action on Saturday. They came up short against Maclay, falling 61-39.

Despite the defeat, Seabreeze saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jordan Anthony went 5 for 8 on his way to 13 points.

Meanwhile, Hagerty lost to Osceola on the road by a 69-51 margin on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 325th, while the Kowboys are ranked 18th).

Hagerty's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Seabreeze, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.

Things could have been worse for Seabreeze, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 64-49 loss to Hagerty in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Hagerty's Asa Kohn, who went 8 of 14 en route to 21 points. Now that Seabreeze knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
