Softball Recap: University Christian Christians vs. Fleming Island Golden Eagles
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Parrish Community, University Christian was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Fleming Island Golden Eagles 4-3. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Christians as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Dixie Tessier made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
Tessier wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Piper Tessier, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Another was Sinai Tunsill, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
