Quincy won the last time they faced Alton and things went their way on Saturday too. The Blue Devils had just enough and edged out the Redbirds 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Blue Devils.

Maylee Tipton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits.

On the hitting side, Quincy's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Avary Hlubek, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

The win got Quincy back to even at 8-8. As for Alton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Quincy will host Seymour at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Alton, they will challenge Southwestern at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
