Basketball Recap: Colton Comes Up Short

Colton played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Pomeroy Pirates, falling 65-14. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Pirates recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.

Cesar Morfin went supernova for Pomeroy, going 7 for 11 from beyond the arc on his way to 23 points and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave Morfin a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyzer Herres, who went 5 of 10 en route to 12 points and seven boards.

Colton's defeat dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Pomeroy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.

Colton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pomeroy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 51-22 win against Waitsburg on the 1st.
