Basketball Game Preview: Coachella Valley Mighty Arabs vs. Yucca Valley Trojans

Coachella Valley is 2-8 against Yucca Valley since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Coachella Valley Mighty Arabs will head out to face off against the Yucca Valley Trojans at 5:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Yucca Valley will be up against a hot Coachella Valley squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Coachella Valley blew past Twentynine Palms 81-47 on Tuesday. The Mighty Arabs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 21 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Franky Aguirre, who almost dropped a double-double on 29 points and nine rebounds. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 15.3 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Israel Garcia, who posted 19 points and four steals.

Meanwhile, Yucca Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 63-58 heartbreaker at the hands of Indio.

Coachella Valley's win bumped their record up to 14-6. As for Yucca Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-18.

Everything came up roses for Coachella Valley against Yucca Valley when the teams last played last Tuesday, as the team secured an 85-53 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Coachella Valley since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
