Softball Recap: Wilmington Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Wilmington Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 10-3 to the Bethel Christian Academy Trojans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-0 back in March.

Amelia Naylor spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and six unearned) runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Wilmington Christian Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bayleigh Robinson, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Nyla Dickey also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Wilmington Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-4-1. As for Bethel Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Wilmington Christian Academy will square off against Freedom Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Wilmington Christian Academy will need to watch out since Freedom Christian Academy has now posted at least ten runs in their last five contests. As for Bethel Christian Academy, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against John Paul II Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on the 29th.
