Volleyball Recap: Andrew Jackson Academy Comes Up Short

Andrew Jackson Academy saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell 2-0 to the Sumter Gamecocks. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

McKinnley Beard paced Andrew Jackson Academy's offense, picking up five kills. Beard got some help from Bella Carrigg and her six assists. Beard was also a major player on defense: she and Carrigan Moore shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with two each.

Andrew Jackson Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 20-7. As for Sumter, their victory bumped their record up to 9-13-2.

Andrew Jackson Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Colleton Prep Academy on the 6th. As for Sumter, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Blythewood at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
