Basketball Game Preview: Gordon-Rushville Mustangs vs. Chadron Cardinals

The Gordon-Rushville Mustangs and the Chadron Cardinals will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Gordon-Rushville turned things around against Mullen on Friday. They came out on top against the Broncos by a score of 56-44.

Meanwhile, Chadron earned a 58-50 win over Gering on Friday.

Chadron is also on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.8 points per game. As for Gordon-Rushville, their victory bumped their record up to 4-10.

Gordon-Rushville was dealt a bruising 73-29 loss at the hands of Chadron in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Gordon-Rushville was down 43-23.
