Lexington Christian dropped their record down to 23-12 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's seven-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Lexington Catholic Knights by a score of 2-1. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Knights this season, with their most recent loss being a 10-1 defeat two weeks ago.

As for Lexington Catholic, the win was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 22-8-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games.

For Lexington Catholic's part, Jack Reeves spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits. Reeves has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Lexington Catholic's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cody Decker, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits Decker has posted since back in April.
