Basketball Recap: Cigarroa Comes Up Short

Cigarroa was the 46-37 winner over Rio Grande City when they last played one another back in November of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Cigarroa Toros were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 40-39 to the Rio Grande City Rattlers. The Toros have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cigarroa's loss dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Rio Grande City, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cigarroa will host Martin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rio Grande City, they will challenge Palmview at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
