Football Recap: Elkhorn North Comes Up Short

Elkhorn North and Bennington squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Elkhorn North had to settle for second. They were dealt a 42-7 defeat at the hands of the Badgers. The contest marked the Wolves' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Elkhorn North didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Quade Carraher and Ian Christo.

Ty Bouaphakeo was his usual excellent self, rushing for 116 yards and three scores, while also throwing for 310 yards and three touchdowns for Bennington. Those 116 rushing yards gave Bouaphakeo a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Will Gutz, who gained 127 total yards and a touchdown.

Elkhorn North's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Bennington, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-2.

Elkhorn North does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bennington, they will face off against Waverly at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
