Basketball Recap: Delta Skates Past Eastbrook with Ease

Delta made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Eastbrook, but still couldn't quite topple them. The Delta Eagles breezed by the Eastbrook Panthers to the tune of 59-26 on Tuesday. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 33 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Delta to victory, but perhaps none more so than Griffyn Knight, who went 7 for 14 on her way to 20 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. Knight is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 13 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jillian Barr, who went 5 of 11 en route to 11 points along with six boards and five assists.

Delta smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

When it comes to explaining why Eastbrook lost, don't look at Mia Bustos. Despite the final result, she posted eight points and ten rebounds.

Delta pushed their record up to 8-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.5 points per game. As for Eastbrook, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-7.

Delta didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-54 win against Greenfield-Central on the 21st. As for Eastbrook, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 58-13 defeat against Alexandria-Monroe on the 20th.
