Hemlock barely beat Ithaca the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Huskies put the hurt on the Yellowjackets with a sharp 14-5 win on Saturday. The Huskies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 17 contests by six runs or more this season.
Carley Noyes was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up five earned runs off 11 hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sage LaVigne, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Lyndsey Lyscas was another key player, going 2-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.
The victory (which was Hemlock's third in a row) raised their record to 22-9. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Ithaca, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 18-8.
