Soccer Recap: Monday's Victory Is Columbus' Sixth in Last Eight Outings

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Columbus had no problem doing just that on Monday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Miami Stingarees an 8-0 shutout. Sebastian Romero was a massive factor in the win as he booted in three goals all by himself.

Columbus is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 32 goals over those eight games. As for Miami, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8.

Columbus will take on Doral Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Columbus will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. Miami does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
