Parklane Academy strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They didn't even let the Brookhaven Academy Cougars on the board, marking the Pioneers' second-straight 35-0 shutout. Give the Pioneers' defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Parklane Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Braxton Hughes, who threw for 161 yards and two TDs while completing 76.9% of his passes, and also punched in a pair of scores on the ground. Another back making a difference was Parker Winge, who rushed for 133 yards on only 14 carries.

Parklane Academy's victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Brookhaven Academy, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-2.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Parklane Academy is set to challenge their familiar foe Madison-Ridgeland Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Tanner Kyzar and Colson O'Cain. Meanwhile, Brookhaven Academy will face off against rival Simpson Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
