Baseball Recap: Eastern Comes Up Short

Eastern had lost five straight at home, but on Monday they dropped down to 5-9 to make it six. They lost 15-8 to the Corydon Central Panthers. Surprisingly, this marked the sixth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.

Reas Sater made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. Gavin Hurst was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

As for Corydon Central, their victory bumped their record up to 9-7-1. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by seven runs or more this season.

On Corydon Central's side, Kylor Vest was incredible, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI Vest has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryant Fogle, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

Looking ahead, Eastern is taking a road trip to square off against Orleans at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Corydon Central, they will take on Brownstown Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers will need to watch out since the Braves have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.
