Basketball Preview: Providence Lions vs. Loyalton Grizzlies
Providence is 0-4 against the Grizzlies since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Providence Lions will be playing in front of their home fans against the Loyalton Grizzlies at 4:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Providence's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by Paradise Adventist Academy at home and fell 55-21. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Providence has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Loyalton pushed their score all the way to 84 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 92-84 hit to the loss column at the hands of Portola. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (81), Loyalton still had to take the loss.
Providence has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season. As for Loyalton, their loss dropped their record down to 16-9.
