Baseball Recap: Doherty Comes Up Short

Doherty was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 10-5 to the West Salem Titans.

Derek Graham was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Crew Miller, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

Doherty's record is now 5-4. As for West Salem, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Doherty will venture away from home to take on Rampart at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Spartans' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for West Salem, they are taking a road trip to challenge Churchill at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lancers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.4 runs per game on average), something the Titans will no doubt try to take advantage of.
