Wolfe City proved they can win big last Saturday (they won by nine) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past the Celeste Blue Devils 8-7. The victory continues a trend for the Wolves in their matchups with the Blue Devils: they've now won four in a row.

The team relied heavily on Lyric Sandlin, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Guiette, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Wolfe City's win bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Celeste, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.

Wolfe City will have a chance to go back-to-back against Celeste: the pair will be back at it again later today.
