AAAA Region VI recap November 19, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in AAAA Region VI this week, South Florence beat Easley 48-14. The victory was the 12th in a row for the Bruins.
South Florence took down the Green Wave 48-14 last week, the largest margin of any game. Nick Jones threw for 308 yards and 4 touchdowns and ran for 32 yards in the win.
David Prince's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Jones chipped in 32 yards. Josh Johnson helped South Florence's passing attack out by catching 6 balls for 52 yards.
He went 26-41 with 2 interceptions.
David Vereen was the best receiver in the league this week as the Bruins defeated Easley. Vereen racked up 10 receptions for 168 yards. Johnson helped South Florence's passing attack out by catching 6 balls for 52 yards.
South Florence's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bruins feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Jones has thrown for 2,551 yards and 35 touchdowns this season, while Tabari Hines has 55 catches for 872 yards.
Sumter made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 1,673 from 2,165. The advance stemmed from a 41-27 victory over Mauldin last week.
