Baseball Game Preview: Sparta Trojans vs. Seymour Tigers

Sparta is 0-7 against Seymour since March of 2018 but things could change on Monday. The Trojans will look to defend their home field against the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. Sparta will be strutting in after a win while Seymour will be coming in after a loss.

Sparta is headed into the matchup having just posted their closest victory since April 15th on Thursday. They skirted past Spokane 7-6.

Meanwhile, Seymour fell victim to Fordland and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 2-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Tigers were not able to get on the board.

This is the second loss in a row for Seymour and nudges their season record down to 10-9. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 8 runs in those games. As for Sparta, their win bumped their record up to 9-12.
