Volleyball Recap: Kodiak Comes Up Short

Kodiak was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Houston Hawks. The Bears were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hawks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Kodiak's offense was headlined by Melanie Gronn and Maggie Hubert, who picked up two kills apiece. They were helped by Ava Dela Cruz and Fremela Garcia, who contributed three assists each.

Kodiak's defeat dropped their record down to 4-21-3. As for Houston, they moved to 9-19 with that victory, which also ended their five-match losing streak.

Coming up, Kodiak will take on Palmer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Houston, they will square off against Redington at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
