Recap: Ridgeland-Hardeeville Jaguars vs. Edisto Cougars
The Ridgeland-Hardeeville Jaguars's game on Thursday was all tied up 21-21 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell to Edisto 52-46. Ridgeland-Hardeeville has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Jaguars players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Poncie Capers, who scored 15 points along with three steals. Capers scored a full 32.6% of Ridgeland-Hardeeville's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jabien Harris, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds.
Ridgeland-Hardeeville's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Edisto, their win bumped their record up to 5-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ridgeland-Hardeeville will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Hampton County at 7:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024. As for Edisto, they will be playing at home against Swansea at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Swansea comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
