The Foothill Tech Dragons will head out on the road to square off against the Thacher Toads at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Foothill Tech has given up an average of 7.5 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Foothill Tech came up short against Redondo Union on Saturday, falling 17-7. The Dragons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Davin Arth was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Robert Juker was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Thacher, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Hillcrest Christian with a sharp 15-0 victory on Thursday. That looming 15-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Toads yet this season.
Kendo Takahashi made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single walk in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Henry Preloger, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three doubles, and one stolen base. Those three doubles gave him a new career-high. Sam Disner also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.
Thacher was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .542. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matchups.
Foothill Tech now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Thacher, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Foothill Tech has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Thacher struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Foothill Tech couldn't quite finish off Thacher in their previous matchup back in April of 2025 and fell 7-5. Can the Dragons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
