Softball Recap: Evangel Christian Has No Trouble Against Wiregrass

Evangel Christian got themselves on the board against Wiregrass on Friday, but Wiregrass never followed suit. Everything went their way against the Wiregrass Kings as they made off with a 13-0 win. Considering the Lightning have won five contests by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Lilli Whitfield was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Gracelynn Shackelford, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Evangel Christian hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in eight consecutive games.

Evangel Christian's record now sits at 8-4. As for Wiregrass, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Evangel Christian didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 5-3 defeat against Ezekiel Academy on the 17th. Wiregrass will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Southern Christian at 3:00 p.m. on March 29th.
