Recap: Ropes Eagles vs. Sundown Roughnecks

There's no place like home for the Ropes Eagles, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with a 47-37 win over Sundown on Friday. For Ropes, this counts as revenge for the 52-44 defeat Sundown walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.

Sundown's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aria Hogan, who scored 13 points along with six blocks. Hogan hasn't dropped below two blocks for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Allie McCormick, who scored 11 points along with six steals and five rebounds.

Ropes pushed their record up to 18-7 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.7 points per game. As for Sundown, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-13.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ropes will take on Seagraves at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Seagraves comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last 11 games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Sundown, they will be playing at home against Post at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Post is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
