Wellington is 9-1 against Forest Hill since February of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Wellington Wolverines will be playing at home against the Forest Hill Falcons at 6:00 p.m. Wellington's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Forest Hill's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Last Friday, Wellington was able to grind out a solid win over Winter Haven, taking the game 6-1.
Greysn Bogdanchik spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in February.
On the hitting side, Thomas Lograsso was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Trevor King, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
Wellington kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Winter Haven only managed three hits.
Forest Hill had taken Royal Palm Beach down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Monday. Forest Hill fell just short of Royal Palm Beach by a score of 3-2. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Yampiel Chavez was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Alex Seal was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Wellington is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. Forest Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.
Wellington was able to grind out a solid victory over Forest Hill in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, winning 6-2. Will Wellington repeat their success, or does Forest Hill have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
