Basketball Game Preview: Westerville Central Warhawks vs. St. Francis DeSales Stallions

The Westerville Central Warhawks are taking a road trip to challenge the St. Francis DeSales Stallions at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Westerville Central took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They came out on top against Grove City by a score of 57-46.

Meanwhile, St. Francis DeSales beat St. Charles 42-29 on Friday. Given the Stallions' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 86th, while the Cardinals are ranked 336th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory made it two in a row for St. Francis DeSales and bumps their season record up to 11-6. As for Westerville Central, their record is now 6-11.

Westerville Central and St. Francis DeSales were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in January of 2024, but Westerville Central came up empty-handed after a 51-50 defeat. Can Westerville Central avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
