Basketball Recap: Metropolitan Skates Past Springfield Gardens with Ease

Metropolitan won the last time they faced Springfield Gardens and things went their way on Thursday too. Metropolitan breezed by the Springfield Gardens Golden Eagles to the tune of 69-11. Given Metropolitan's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 55th, while Springfield Gardens is ranked 420th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Metropolitan pushed their record up to 9-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 49 points. As for Springfield Gardens, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Metropolitan will take on Bronx Studio at 10:00 a.m. on January 25th. Metropolitan is facing Bronx Studio at the right time seeing as Bronx Studio is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Springfield Gardens, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Beach Channel at 4:30 p.m. on January 28th.
