Minooka and Yorkville are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2021, but likely not for long. The Indians will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against the Foxes at 4:30 p.m. The last four games Minooka has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Minooka came out on top against Plainfield North on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run first inning. The Indians had just enough and edged out the Tigers 8-7. The victory continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won three in a row.
Minooka got a great performance from Emma Best as she tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits. What's more, Best posted two strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March.

On the hitting side, Gracie Anderson was incredible, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-3. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Jaelle Hamilton was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 runs the game before, Yorkville was a bit more limited in their game on Monday. They fell 6-2 to Oswego. The Foxes have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.
Kayla Kersting was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.
Yorkville's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Minooka, their win bumped their record up to 9-6.
Yorkville's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Minooka hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .347. It's a different story for Yorkville, though, as they've only averaged .252. Will they be able to contain Minooka's hitters?
Minooka came out on top in a nail-biter against Yorkville in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 12-11. Will the Indians repeat their success, or do the Foxes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
