Volleyball Game Preview: Unity Christian Lions vs. Oakland/Kansas/Shiloh Titans

The Unity Christian Lions will head out to square off against the Oakland/Kansas/Shiloh Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Tuesday, Unity Christian didn't have quite enough to beat Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond and fell 2-1. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Unity Christian started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-21, 26-24.

Meanwhile, Oakland/Kansas/Shiloh came up short against Cumberland on Tuesday and fell 2-0.

Oakland/Kansas/Shiloh was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-9.

Unity Christian's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 24-8. As for Oakland/Kansas/Shiloh, their loss dropped their record down to 10-17.

Unity Christian was able to grind out a solid win over Oakland/Kansas/Shiloh when the teams last played back in October of 2024, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
