Baseball Game Preview: Turkeyfoot Valley Area Rams vs. Mapletown Maples

The Turkeyfoot Valley Area Rams will head out on the road to square off against the Mapletown Maples at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.

Turkeyfoot Valley Area can't be to happy about their upcoming road match considering what happened when they opened their season on the away from home on Tuesday. They took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of Calvary Christian Academy. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.

Zack Ryan was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing Five bases. while going 3-for-4. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Heath Nicholson, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Mapletown took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Clairton as Mapletown made off with an 18-8 victory.

Turkeyfoot Valley Area might still be hurting after the 13-3 loss they got from Mapletown when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can Turkeyfoot Valley Area avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
