Volleyball Recap: Cabell Midland Starts Season with Win at Home

Cabell Midland gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Boyd County Lions. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Knights also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-15, 25-11, 25-20.

Katie Lawson paced Cabell Midland's offense, picking up 18 kills. Lawson got some help from Jillian Yost and her 38 assists. Yost was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cabell Midland will venture away from home to take on Spring Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games the Timberwolves have played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Boyd County, they will head out on the road to challenge Fairview at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. This will be the Lions' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
