Meanwhile, Bridgeport had to start their season on the road on Thursday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They came up short against City View, falling 37-13. The Bulls just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row dating back to last season.
Bridgeport wouldn't let City View keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Bridgeport can thank Melvin Lujan and Cole Pritchard for forcing both of them. Pritchard's also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, forcing a fumble and making four total tackles. Teagan Herring was another major factor on D, making 15 total tackles and defending a pass.
Bowie strolled past Bridgeport in their previous matchup back in September of 2023 by a score of 23-9. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bowie since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
