Baseball Game Preview: Pioneer Panthers vs. Fredonia Hillbillies

The Pioneer Panthers will venture away from home to face off against the Fredonia Hillbillies at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Fredonia took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Pioneer, who comes in off a win.

It was a proper cat-fight when Pioneer challenged Bishop Timon-St. Jude on Monday. The Panthers came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 5-1. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Meanwhile, Fredonia came up short against Depew on Monday, falling 16-5.

Pioneer pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Fredonia, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Pioneer couldn't quite finish off Fredonia in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 and fell 13-11. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
