Volleyball Recap: Washington County Triumphs

Washington County won the last time they faced Valley Falls and things went their way on Saturday too. The Tigers walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Dragons.

While Washington County won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-23.

Anna Goeckel paced Washington County's offense, picking up nine kills. Goeckel got some help from Jayden Laflen and her 15 assists. Macie Gepner controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Washington County's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Valley Falls, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-3.

Washington County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Onaga on the 13th. As for Valley Falls, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Frankfort on the 13th.
