Recap: Mashpee Falcons vs. Carver Crusaders
The Mashpee Falcons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a rough 71-43 loss at the hands of Carver. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Mashpee in their matchups with Carver: they've now lost eight in a row.
Carver got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Josie Helms out in front who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. Helms is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. Jadyn Sotomayor was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Mashpee's defeat was their third straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-2. As for Carver, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-3.
Mashpee will head out on the road to face off against East Bridgewater at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Carver, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Norwell at 6:30 p.m.
